Showers and Storms in the East; Dangerously Hot and Dry in the West

It has been very dry across most of the Four State Region for the last 2+ weeks and as a result, flash drought conditions are developing. That means the Wildfire Threat will be increasing across our region as well.
The Climate Prediction Center's 8 to 14 Day Outlook and it's looks very familiar with the Drought regaining ground across our Four-State area.
After showers and storms diminish, quiet weather will prevail as lows fall into the middle 70s under partly cloudy skies. Expect light south winds of up to 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow will see slightly less hot temperatures across the ArkLaTex, but highs will still aim for the middle 90s at most sites. Scattered showers and storms will be possible again across southern Arkansas and the Toledo Bend Country.
Here are today's climate records for selected sites across the Four State region.
